Hopeless Wanderer is our groups main topic for the critique. The video is very unique with its comedy. It includes comedians actually playing the parts of the musicians themselves. At the same time the production value and the way the video looks is very well done. It shows that the band has a funny and unique side to them that the audience definitely loves with a nice 6,675,157 views on youtube. Hopeless Wanderer is a hilarious music video that cleverly takes advantage of comedians and puts a new and unique twist on the standard music video. According to the actual band members, they have never really liked any of their music videos and they were willing to step outside the square with this catchy idea. Their 2012 album 'Babel', which featured the song, 'Hopeless Wanderer', sold over 600,000 copies within the first week in the US which then became the largest selling debut album in 2012. The album, at the end of 2012, sold over three million copies worldwide and was the number one ranked album in seven different countries. Personally, I believe this music video is extremely effective and has the main characteristic that can lead to a hit music video which is being creative/unique.
